My Old Mitsubishi Shogun

I thought I would do a little throw back to my 2004 Mitsubishi Shogun 3.5 Gdi Warrior. I owned it from 2010 to 2017 and it received one or two modifications along the way. I did 70k miles and put in a lot of fuel.

Here are a list of the modifications I can remember

  • A Bar
  • Hella FF75 lights
  • Window tints
  • Bf Goodrich Tyres in 265 65 18
  • Double din radio
  • Bumper reversing camera
  • Number plate light reversing camera
  • Land Rover spot lights
  • Stainless cat back exhaust
  • Cobra R0294 parking sensors
  • Cobra R0394 parking sensors
  • Silver window switch trims
  • Silver door handles
  • Silver handle covers
  • Tripple light front light
  • Durite interior led lights
  • Dog Cam
  • LED daytime running lights
  • Bonnet struts
  • Under bonnet LEDS
  • Folding mirrors when locking
  • Hella Luminator Compacts
  • HID kit for the Hella lights

I Hope you enjoy looking through the photos and if you fancy having anything similar done please call on 0131 443 1818 and ask for Doug

One of the first things I done was to acquire the A bar from the front of my dads Shogun

My first set of lights, Hella FF75. I had no idea where the light obsession was going to go.

I then replaced the 285 55 18 tyres with 265 65 18 BF Goodrich AT's. Had the windows tinted 25% and 35% and fitted handle covers from the later model.

I fitted a double din unit and relocated the heater controls to a spare slot below the radio

Now that I had the double din with display I added a reversing camera to the bumper.

I later replaced the bumper camera with a number plate light one for a better viewing angle

Daytime running lights became a thing and I wanted in on the action. To keep everything looking oem I decided to replace the fog lights with them.

I liked the look of the Spot lights that were an optional extra for Discoverys and Defenders. I managed to get a set on ebay for quite a bit less then the £550 retail. In the end I was very disappointed with the light output, especially for a light in this price bracket.

Ignore the reflection of me, the joys of shiny black cars. I fitted Cobra r0294 sensors, these were later replaced with the R0394 purely for looks.

Who likes to use a bonnet stay when you can add bonnet struts.

I found the sliver window trims from a higher spec'd warrior and some silver handles from an Elegance model

I was doing a lot of driving to and from Newcastle and had problems with blocked fuel filters, to help sort it at night I added some LEDs under the bonnet wired through a bonnet pin switch

Rear USB's for passengers to charge things while on road trips.

The light obsession continues. I replaced the Land Rover lights with 4 Hella Luminator Compacts. The light pattern was so much better and they're still one of my favourite lights.

Maybe a little too much

I later added HID Kits to the Hella lights

Probably my biggest undertaking. I fancied a new double din radio but realised I could get an iPad for less. This too a lot of work and head scratching. I fitted a stereo under the passenger seat to connect to the iPad with bluetooth. Took the original heater display out and fitted a screen or the reversing camera. And the iPad was removable.

After getting a little black cocker spaniel and having trouble telling if he was ok in the boot I added a dog cam
